RLT - Real Life Test -Trial run for sex reassignment surgery candidates

RLT or RLE - Real life test or experience.  Trial period in which patients try living as the gender they will become after Sex Reassignment Surgery.  This allows the transgender person awaiting surgery to address any concerns and work through them prior to surgery.  As well enabling them to understand how the gender change will impact on their lifestyle, on the lives of those around them and to help them integrate into their chosen gender. 

Whilst living the Real Life Experience the transgender person will meet with people who have already had sex reassignment surgery who are willing to share their own experiences, provide support, guidance and advice.
